I’ll say it loud for all to hear: Your degree, or lack of one, is not your career destiny.
I said it to students so often when I worked in education that I memorized the spiel:
“You are learning, not *just* to get a job, but to become employable.
That’s another word for ‘useful’ and useful is valuable.
The best way to prove you’re useful is to show that you can LEARN.”
For some, being educated means earning a degree.
For some, being educated means living life outside a classroom.
For some, educated means a combination of the two
But for everyone, being educated means regardless of the outcome you gained both knowledge and wisdom because of what you accomplished.
Tell the story of what you learned from what you did and you’ll get attention.
